Rudolf Braun (born July 21, 1889 in Wetter (Hesse) , † July 25, 1975 in Marburg ) was a German entrepreneur , member of the Reichstag of the NSDAP and NSDAP regional economic consultant .

Life

After attending elementary school and high school, Braun graduated from high school and completed an apprenticeship in a pharmacy. He then began studying chemistry , botany and pharmacy at the Universities of Marburg , Göttingen and Frankfurt , which he completed with the pharmaceutical state examination , his license to practice medicine and a doctorate in chemistry.

During the First World War , Braun was a volunteer, initially in the infantry , and finally as a reserve lieutenant in the field artillery . Awarded the Iron Cross of both classes during the war , Braun participated in Hitler's attempted coup in Munich in November 1923 as a member of the Rossbach assault detachment . In 1924 he took over the Uzara-Werke, a factory for pharmaceutical and chemical preparations in Melsungen near Kassel.

Braun joined the NSDAP in 1929. From 1929 to 1933 he was an alderman in the magistrate of the then district town of Melsungen. After the National Socialist " seizure of power " Braun was a member of the Prussian State Council from April to July 1933 and in the same year exercised functions at the regional level, for example as Vice President of the Provincial Parliament of the Prussian Province of Hessen-Nassau . From November 12, 1933 until the end of the war in 1945, Braun was a member of the Reichstag , which was insignificant during the National Socialist era.

He served as President of the Kassel Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1933 to 1943. Braun also held positions in the NSDAP Gau Kurhessen : As a Gau economic advisor, Gau Hauptamtsleiter and Oberfeldleiter of the NSDAP he was one of the closest employees of the Gauleiter Karl Weinrich and Karl Gerland there . Furthermore, Braun was military economic leader and on the supervisory board of "Kurhessischen Kupferschmiedebergbau GmbH".

After the end of the war, Braun was in Allied internment. In the denazification he was classified in Group III - "Lesser Polluted" - by the Arbitration Chamber . Braun remained the owner of the Uzara works in Melsungen until 1971.
