Rudolf Faltermeier

Rudolf Faltermeier (born February 12, 1926 in Kelheim ; † February 4, 2012 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Faltermeier grew up with four siblings in Weltenburg , attended the local elementary school and later the vocational school in Kelheim. At the end of 1943 he was drafted into the frontline service in Russia and attended school V for the infantry squad in Brno . During the Second World War, he was seriously injured and had to undergo an operation. In 1947 Faltermeier began working as a laboratory assistant at the Zellstoff company, where he was still doing an apprenticeship in this profession before the war. From 1954 to 1962 he was a social judge at the Landshut Social Court .

From May 1, 1956 until his death, Faltermeier was a member of the Kelheim district assembly. Also from May 1, 1956 to 1967, he was a member of the Kelheim City Council. From 1962 to 1966 he was also a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . In March 1967, Faltermeier became district administrator of the Kelheim district . In 1972 he was re-elected, so that he held this office until April 30, 1978.

Faltermeier was married to his wife, who died in 2006, from November 1947. From this marriage two sons were born. One of them is Hubert Faltermeier , also a former Kelheim district administrator. Rudolf Faltermeier also had three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
