Rudolph Freiherr von und zu der Tann , from 1868 Tann-Rathsamhausen (born October 20, 1820 in Tann , † June 18, 1890 in Erling ) was a Bavarian lieutenant general .

Life

Rudolph von der Tann was a son of the Bavarian chamberlain Heinrich von der Tann (1784-1848) and his wife Sophie, née Freiin von Rathsamhausen (1767-1833), the last of their Alsatian family. The Bavarian name and coat of arms association with the barons of Rathsamhausen to "from and to the Tann-Rathsamhausen" took place for him and his brothers, the Bavarian majors Hugo and Ludwig , on May 21, 1868 in Berg .

After visiting the pagerie , Tann joined the 1st Artillery Regiment of the Bavarian Army as a Junker on August 19, 1839 . In the further course of his military career he took part in the war against Prussia in 1866 and in the war against France in 1870/71 . Since 1870 major general and commander of the 4th Infantry Brigade , Tann rose to lieutenant general and commander of the 2nd division in 1873 . In 1875 it was put up for disposition .

He was also a Bavarian chamberlain and was made an honorary citizen of Ingolstadt on June 18, 1871 .

Tann married Bertha Freiin von Schaezler (1840-1926) on September 25, 1858 in Scherneck . The marriage remained childless.
