Heinrich Friedrich Conrad Freiherr von und zu der Tann (born May 10, 1784 in Fulda , † November 8, 1848 in Waizenbach ) was a Bavarian officer and member of parliament.

Life

Heinrich von der Tann was the son of the Oberhofmarschall and victum Friedrich Franz von und zu der Tann (1751-1810) and his wife Sophie, née Countess von und zu Eltz (1754-1803). He also had a sister, Johanna (1785–1863), who was married to the Mecklenburg lieutenant general Carl Wilhelm Ludwig Hartwig von Both (1778–1860) from Ludwigslust .

Career

Tann lived in Tann Castle in his childhood . He conducted legal and political studies in Göttingen and became French prefect of Hanau during the Napoleonic period under Grand Duke Karl Theodor von Dalberg . In 1813 he was appointed police prefect of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt . After Napoleon's fall, Grand Duke Dalberg lost his secular rule in 1814. This led Tann to withdraw into private life. Since then he has represented the noble landowners of the Lower Main District as a member of the 2nd Chamber in the Bavarian State Parliament.

In the Bavarian Army he reached the rank of lieutenant colonel and worked as district inspector of the Landwehr . The Bavarian king appointed him chamberlain and awarded him the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Michael . Tann was also Commander of the Order of the White Falcon .

family

Tann had married Sophie von Rathsamhausen (1791-1833) on May 10, 1812. She was a daughter of Samson von Rathsamhausen (1740-1819) and his wife Sophie Franziska (1767-1833). They had six children together:
