Ruedi Brassel

Ruedi Brassel (also Ruedi Brassel-Moser ; born July 28, 1955 ) is a Swiss historian and politician ( SP ).

Live and act

Ruedi Brassel studied history, philosophy and economics at the University of Basel . In 1981 he completed his studies with a licentiate thesis entitled The Swiss Freedom in the Conflicts of the First Post-War Period 1918–1922 . In 1991 he received his doctorate in Basel with a dissertation on the political cultures in Switzerland in the 1920s with the title Dissonances of Modernity . As a historian, he worked on many projects and published books, essays and plays. He was Martin Schaffner's assistant . As an employee of the Historical Lexicon of Switzerland , Basel office, he wrote and edited numerous articles.

His main research interests are the history of political culture, the peace movement and religious socialism as well as regional history ( Canton Basel-Landschaft ).

Ruedi Brassel is a member of the SP. From 1999 to 2015 he was a member of the district administrator of the canton of Basel-Landschaft , where he was parliamentary group president of the SP from 2003 to 2008 . From 1999 to 2006 he was a member of the business audit committee and 2002/2003 President of the GPK- PUK for the renovation of the Liestal Cantonal Hospital ; from 2006 to 2015 he was a member of the finance committee. From 2008 to 2016 he was also on the Prattel City Council , where he headed the Services, Security, GGA and IT department.
