View of the Älpele (Frastanz)

In the market town of Nenzing, the name Rungeletsch describes a corridor and a group (about 700  m above sea level ) in the Mittelberg district. It is a collection of around 15 residential buildings and other economic buildings. In Frastanz , Rungeletsch refers to agricultural corridors that are directly adjacent but belong to the Feldkirch district .

Surname

The name of the Rungeletsch area is said to be of Rhaeto-Romanic origin and mean bad clearing . In addition to the small settlement in Nenzing, the term Rungeletsch also refers to the slope in the municipality of Frastanz and Nenzing, which is oriented from northwest to southeast and rises by around 150  meters (from around 600  m above sea level to 750  m above sea level ) .

In Vorarlberg, the name Rungeletsch can also be found in Fraxern , Göfis and Satteins .

history

The Mittelberg area and thus also Rungeletsch has been cultivated since at least the Middle Ages and it was originally the lower Alps. Mittelberg and Rungeletsch were for centuries part of a unified community that was formed by Frastanz and Nenzing. It was not until the 14th century that they separated. Mittelberg and thus part of the Rungeletsch area remained with Nenzing. The division also created two enclaves in the Nenzing municipality, Gampelün (Frastanz II) and Bardella (Frastanz III), which are connected to one another by a corridor. These enclaves belong to the Feldkirch district . Due to the greater geographical proximity to Frastanz, Mittelberg and thus Rungeletsch are cared for by Frastanz and the post is also delivered via Frastanz. Mittelberg developed into an industrial and commercial area (especially in the Rotte Heimat ), but the Rungeletsch area in Nenzing became a residential area and there are still farms.

Topography, geography, location and traffic

The Nenzing part of Rungeletsch is part of the Mittelberg district at the northwest end of the market town of Nenzing on the border with Frastanz. The municipality boundary to Frastanz runs to the west, partly directly along the edge of the settlement. The Mariexbach and Grappabach (270 meters) in the municipality of Frastanz are about 120 meters to the west as the crow flies. A nameless stream rises in the forest about 220 meters to the east and flows into the Roßniserbach near the Halden district (about 650 meters to the east as the crow flies). Frastafeders is about 1000 meters as the crow flies northwest, Bazora about 800 meters southwest.

Narrow streets reach Rungeletsch from Halden or Gampelün and one from Frastafeders (Frastanz).

Management and nature

The Alpe Rungeletsch and the corridor of the same name are farmed. Remarkable are the largely preserved rough meadows and the remains of flat and sloping moors as well as a multitude of plants and birds.
