The village of Rupprechtstegen is part of the municipality of Hartenstein in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located three kilometers west-northwest of Hartenstein and about six kilometers southeast of the federal highway 9 ( Nuremberg - Berlin ).

history

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Enzendorf with the second municipal edict, which also included the village of Lungsdorf , as well as the two wastelands Griesmühle and Harnbach .

Together with the entire municipality of Enzendorf, Rupprechtstegen was incorporated into the municipality of Hartenstein in 1977 as part of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s . In 1993 Rupprechtstegen had 257 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is mainly made by the state road 2162 , it runs through the town from Enzendorf in the south-west coming in a north-easterly direction to Lungsdorf. In addition, Rupprechtstegen has its own stopping point on the Nuremberg – Cheb line , which is served every hour by regional trains on the NurembergNeuhaus an der Pegnitz line.

The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .

The clock tower

There are several architectural monuments in Rupprechtstegen. The best known of these is the clock tower of a former fire station , which is designated as a monument with the number D-5-74-129-32.
