Rzezawa is a village in the Powiat Bocheński of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the rural community of the same name with a little over 11,100 inhabitants.

geography

Rzezawa is located 41 km east of Kraków and 7 km west of Brzesko . The Gróbka River flows through the village .

history

Casimir the Great decided in 1350 to found the three places Rzezawa, Jodłówka and Borka. In May of the same year he also had a church built in Zyrawie (Rzezawa).

From 1975 to 1998 the village belonged to the Tarnów Voivodeship .

Droga krajowa 4 Jędrzychowice - Korczowa and the Kraków - Rzeszów railway line run through the municipality . In 2011 the DK4 is still part of the Europastraße 40 , after completion of the Autostrada 4 it will become the E40. It will be built on the territory of the municipality.
