As Genus III designated Royal Saxon State Railways four-coupled Schlepptender locomotives for the express train service. The Deutsche Reichsbahn classified the locomotives in the 34.76 series from 1925 .

history

They were 1871 / 1872 of Hartmann in 66 copies and the Maschinenfabrik Esslingen manufactured in 21 copies. 14 of the Esslingen locomotives were subsequently given a Nowotny-Klien steering axle instead of the rigid leading axle and were then classified in the IIIb series.

The Reichsbahn only took over one of the unchanged machines with the number 274 and the name BRÜNN and gave it the operating number 34 7611.
