Seguin [ sᵻˈɡiːn ] is a small town in Guadalupe County, Texas, and also the seat of the county seat .
history
Seguin was founded in 1838 under the name Walnut Springs . In 1839 it was renamed in honor of Juan N. Seguin. Seguin is located 55 kilometers northeast of San Antonio and is the administrative center of Guadalupe County. Seguin has been friends with Vechta since 1995 . Further city friendships exist with San Nicolás de los Garza , Nuevo Leon, Mexico and Millicent, South Australia.
