In Turkey, the road continues as D 955 to Ardahan . Between Akhaltsikhe and Turkey, the road is part of the European route 691 .
history
At the time of the Soviet Union , the S8 was only a secondary connection with Turkey ; cross-border traffic was handled via the S2 trunk road and Batumi . The Soviet numbering of this street is not known.
