The S-6 ( Georgian : ს -6) is a main road in Georgia . It leads from the capital Tbilisi via Marneuli and Bolnissi to the border with Armenia . In Armenia the road continues as M3 to Vanadzor .
The entire S-6 is part of the E117 . In addition, the road between Tbilisi and Marneuli is also part of the E001.
history
During the Soviet Union , the S-6 was a secondary connection across the Caucasus . After 1991 the road was split between Georgia and Armenia. The Armenian section is renumbered as M3 and the Georgian section is renumbered as S-6. The Soviet number of the street is not known. The road now has a secondary function.
