Saertaschorisso mnischwnelobis gsa S12 ( Georgian : საერთაშორისო მნიშვნელობის გზა ს -12 ) is a trunk road in Georgia .
The road leads from Samtredia to Supsa in the west of the country and, as a connection between these two cities, represents an alternative, 20 km shorter route to the S1 and S2 highways that run through Poti .
The entire S12 is part of the European route 692 .
history
The S12 is mainly used to shorten the route from Tbilisi to Batumi . Batumi is an important port city in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara , with which relations over time have been rather poor and traffic between Georgia and Adjara has been limited. Relationships have improved considerably since 2004 and the Georgian authorities have made traffic easier with the use of a hive, so through traffic has become more important.
