Saertaschorisso mnischwnelobis gsa S9 ( Georgian : საერთაშორისო მნიშვნელობის გზა ს -9 ) is a trunk road in Georgia and at the same time the eastern ring road around the capital Tbilisi . The road leads from Mtskheta to Rustavi .

The entire S9 is part of European routes 60 and 117 .

history

It is unclear when exactly the S9 was built, but probably during the Soviet Union period , as this type of bypass road was built a lot around cities in the Soviet Union in the 1970s and 1980s. The road can no longer be classified as modern, although parts of the S9 were modernized in the 2000s.
