The SDF SpA is an Italian agricultural machinery manufacturer based in Treviglio .
The product range includes tractors , harvesters, diesel engines and agricultural machinery. The company's own products are sold under the brand names SAME , Lamborghini Trattori , Hürlimann , Deutz-Fahr and Grégoire. The tractor division covers a power range from 23 to 440 hp, the harvesting machinery division from 100 to 395 hp.
Company history
The company's history begins in 1942 with the establishment of SAME (Società Accomandita Motori Endotermici, in English limited partnership for endothermic motors ) in Treviglio ( Bergamo province ) in Italy. After the acquisition of Lamborghini Trattori SpA in 1973, a company founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini , SAME began to grow through the acquisition of other companies.
With the acquisition of Hürlimann in 1979, the name was changed to SAME-Lamborghini-Hürlimann (SLH). 1995 the acquisition of the agricultural machinery division with the Deutz-Fahr brand from the German group of companies KHD. From this point on, the group is finally called SAME Deutz-Fahr. In 1996 SAME Deutz-Fahr was founded in India. From 2003 to 2012 the SDF Group was a shareholder in the German Deutz AG ; In 2003 it acquired 10% of Sampo Rosenlew , based in Finland, a manufacturer of combine harvesters with 4 or 5 straw walkers. This company participation was later given up again. In 2005, after purchasing Đuro Đaković based in Croatia, the company founded the company DEUTZ-FAHR Combines, which today produces components and combine harvesters of the Deutz-Fahr brand. In 2008 the Historical Museum Same Deutz-Fahr was founded at the company's headquarters in Treviglio. In 2011, the Group bought Grégoire, a French company specializing in machinery for growing grapes and olives. In the same year, SAME Deutz-Fahr starts a joint venture with Shandong Changlin Machinery in China. In 2013 the new Farmotion motor series was presented. In 2014, SAME Deutz-Fahr Traktör Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. founded in Istanbul, Turkey. In December 2015, the name was changed to SDF Group.
Locations
SDF has around 4,200 employees and a turnover of 1,373 million euros (2018). The company's headquarters are in Treviglio (BG) in Northern Italy, where it has been based since the company was founded. Manufacturing, sales, customer service and spare parts sales are organized through 8 production sites (in Europe and Asia), two joint ventures, 12 branches (in Europe and Asia) and a sales network consisting of 155 importers and over 3,100 authorized dealers around the world.
