The SK-64 class is a series of eight nautical sign control boats from Project 64, which was developed for the Sea Hydrographic Service of the GDR and built in 1968 by the Peene shipyard in Wolgast . Three improved units were delivered from the Elbe shipyard Boizenburg in Roßlau from 1976 to 1977 . These boats have the same technical specifications but are called Project 601 and SK-76 class .

Furnishing

The navigation sign control boats of this class were built for use in the shallow bay and lagoon . They differ from the previously built buoy layers in that the bridge superstructures are arranged in the foredeck and the working deck in the aft. The loading gear is attached to a crossbeam between the two exhaust posts, with the cable winch and towing gear installed in between. In the event of mobilization was on the back a / 70 25 mm L -Doppellafette provided.

The boats are driven by a marine diesel engine from VEB Schwermaschinenbau "Karl Liebknecht" , which acts on a fixed propeller. With a drive power of 425 kW , a speed of 11 knots and a bollard pull of 5 tbp are achieved.

units

All boats were named after known reference points on the Baltic Sea coast. The Breitling was rammed in 1986 in Warnemünde by a new ship that was torn loose in a storm and was so badly damaged that it had to be scrapped. The remaining ten units were in active service when the GDR Sea Hydrographic Service was dissolved. The following table provides information about their whereabouts after 1990.
