SR-71 is an American punk rock band formed in Baltimore in 1998 . It is named after the SR-71 Blackbird supersonic reconnaissance aircraft , the fastest aircraft in the world at the time. They are best known through the single Right Now , released in 2000 .
history
Her first work Now You See Inside was released in 2000, which was awarded gold in the USA . The singles were Right Now and Politically Correct . On this LP , SR-71 delivered mostly optimistic fun punk, which partly reminded of bands like Sum 41 and blink-182 , but was ultimately calmer and more poppy.
In 2002 SR-71 released their second album Tomorrow on the American market, with John Allen replacing drummer Dan Garvin. He left the band to join Nine Days . On this album there was a change in the style of the band. The music got heavier and darker overall. The songs fluctuate between ballads , party punk and dark rock . Compared to its predecessor, the texts also appear more adult and meaningful, Truth was written under the impression of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. The loud-quiet arrangement of many songs remained a hallmark of the band.
Since Jeff Reid and Mark Beauchemin left the band after the promotion tour for Tomorrow , Pat DeMent and the up-and-coming talent Mike Ruocco were hired, who with the Allens released the third and so far last studio album Here We Go Again in 2004, on which the path from Now You See Inside to Tomorrow was consistently followed up.
