During the season he moved to the Croatian traditional club Dinamo Zagreb , but here he could not prevail, which is why he went to NK Varteks Varaždin for the 2000/01 season , where he stayed two seasons before he went abroad for the first time, to Como Calcio in the Italian Serie A , switched. Since Como relegated at the end of the season, Bjelanović moved to Serie A club Chievo Verona , but here too he did not mature into a regular player. Therefore, it drove him to the 2003/04 season for Genoa in Serie B , where he for the first time in Italy made it into the starting eleven, after which he again after a season in the Serie A to succeed US Lecce returned. From the 2005/06 season Bjelanović played with the promoted Ascoli Calcio where he was in the regular squad and was one of the most dangerous attackers.

At the end of the 2006/07 season, Turin FC bought 50 percent of its transfer rights. In summer 2010, he moved to CFR Cluj in the Romanian Liga 1 , but returned already back in the winter break to Italy and played for Atalanta in the Serie B . For the 2011/12 season Bjelanović moved within Serie B to Hellas Verona . After missing the promotion, he returned to Cluj in September 2012. In the reigning champions he was only used in half of the games and ended the 2012/13 season in eighth place. He returned to Italy at the end of the season and was hired by AS Varese in 1910 in Serie B. With his new team he secured relegation in the play-offs against Novara Calcio at the end of the 2013/14 season.

In the summer of 2014 Bjelanović moved to ACR Messina in the third Italian division, the Lega Pro , Season South. In early 2015, Pordenone Calcio signed him from the North season. After the relegation of his club at the end of the 2014/15 season , he ended his career.
