Saargrund is a district of the city of Eisfeld in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

Saargrund is located on the federal highway 281 north of Sachsenbrunn in a valley of the Thuringian Slate Mountains . To the right and left of the road there are meadows and on the slopes there are rocks and forest.

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1730/31.
