Friedrichshöhe is a district of the city of Eisfeld in the Hildburghausen district in Thuringia .

Friedrichshöhe is located on a high plateau in the Thuringian Slate Mountains north of Eisfeld and southeast of Masserberg am Rennsteig . The village is in the middle of mountain meadows, framed by forests at 800 meters above sea level. There is a traffic connection via an access road to federal highway 281 .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document on September 1, 1725. It was founded by glassmakers from Fehrenbach and Stützerbach and was named after the sovereign Duke Ernst Friedrich I of Saxony-Hildburghausen . Until the fall of the Wall , the village with 32 inhabitants was the smallest independent town in the GDR . Friedrichshöhe has belonged to the Sachsenbrunn community since 1994 . In 2012, 60 residents lived in 30 houses in the district.
On January 1, 2019, Friedrichshöhe came to the city of Eisfeld as part of the incorporation of Sachsenbrunn.
