Sabine Vogt

Sabine Vogt (* 1970 ) is a German classical philologist .

Life

Sabine Vogt studied Classical Philology , German Philology and Classical Archeology at the University of Munich and at St. John's College in Oxford from 1989 to 1995 . After a year studying at Darwin College in Cambridge , she was in 1999 Hellmut Flashar in Greek philology at the University of Munich with a translation with commentary on the Physiognomonica of Aristotle doctorate. After taking on a position as senior assistant at the Department of Classical Philology at the University of Mainz in 2001, she switched to the Walter de Gruyter publishing house in Berlin in 2002 as a lecturer for Classical Studies . In October 2012 she was appointed professor of Classical Philology with a focus on Greek Studies at the University of Bamberg .

Vogt is a member of the Mommsen Society , the Society for Ancient Philosophy , the Advisory Board of the August Boeckh Antike Center of the Humboldt University in Berlin and was the acting chairwoman of the German Association of Classical Philology until 2016.
