Sabuli ( Saboli ) is an East Timorese place, Aldeia and Suco in the administrative office of Metinaro ( municipality of Dili ).

The place

The place Sabuli is located in the northeast of the Sucos, at an altitude of 104  m . It is part of the Metinaro settlement center that extends into the neighboring Suco Wenunuc .

1633 inhabitants live in Sabuli (2015), of which 808 are men and 825 women. The population density is 122.1 inhabitants / km². There are 214 households in the Suco. More than 66% of the population name Mambai as their mother tongue. Almost 21% speak Tetum Prasa , around 5% Galoli , just under 4% Makasae , more than 2.5% Nanaek and minorities Fataluku , Baikeno or Tetum Terik .

The Suco is located to the west of the Metinaro administrative office on the coast of the Strait of Wetar . To the east lies the Suco Wenunuc, to the west the administrative office of Cristo Rei with its Suco Hera . The Ponta Hatomanulaho in the west of Sabuli marks the eastern end of the bay of Hera . It is followed by the Bay of Hatarairun Ulun , before the coast runs north again and further east at the mouth of the Lobain . The river flows through the east of the Sucos in the rainy season. The Sabuli flows into the Lobain . In the south, Sabuli borders the Remexio administrative office ( municipality of Aileu ) with its Suco Liurai .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Sabuli had an area of ​​25.11 km². Sabuli gave territories in the west to Hera and received territories in the south of Wenunuc. Now Sabuli has 13.38 km².

Roughly following the coastline, the northern coastal road leads through the Suco. It is one of the most important traffic routes in the country, which connects the state capital Dili with the east of the country. The Metinaro settlement center is on the road. These include in the area of ​​Suco Sabuli, Wenunuc ( Benunuc , Benunuk ), Manuleu , Kabura , Sukaerlaran , Sabuli and Ayalan . Meti Murak Timor Lda has had a fish farm in Sabuli since 2011 . where 60,000 salmon are raised.
