In Toronto living Detective John Hebron is mentally unstable because he has lost his family in an attack in-house. Although he tries to numb his pain with too much alcohol and medication, he suffers from hallucinations, but he continues to investigate the drug environment. Together with his colleague Balt (Matthew Stefiuk), he has his sights set on the drug ring of Arment, which as a former detective controls his business from Los Angeles . His son Rook is his governor in Toronto, who, together with the club owner Jade, takes care of the distribution and procurement of heroin . Jade's young confidante Mike deals for his boss, but wants to get out because he wants to take care of his five-year-old sister Angel. After a junkie tries to steal the offering box in Porter's church and destroys the statue of Mary there, Mike decides to put the $ 20 million heroin Mary in the church as a replacement. Arment and Jade are suspicious of Mike and have Gary Diamond tail him. Mike and Angel hide in a hotel but do not feel safe. Meanwhile, Mike has tried to blackmail Jade and brings Angel into a leisure home. When he shows up at the hotel to get Angel's teddy bear, Jade, Diamond and Rook show up. During a brief altercation, Rook is injured by Mike, who shoots Mike. John Hebron is now asked by his friend Rachel, the carer at the recreation home, to look after Mike and calls him. John and his colleagues are at the hotel shortly afterwards. Then he picks up Angel from Rachel and takes her home with him. He later agrees to protect Angel. But when she is kidnapped and used as a hostage, John does everything possible to save Angel. He also sees it as an opportunity to free himself from his demons.
