action

The eyes of local reporter Martin and photographer Lena cross in a crowded subway - it's over for both of them. During the subsequent visit to a swimming pool with the charm of a 1970s concrete building, there is a second encounter.

Finally, on the basketball court next door, the two of them attack each other without much ado. Not a word is exchanged.

Then everyone goes their own way without having exchanged a name or telephone number. At home, the unstable wife with her unannounced parents is waiting for Martin at the dining table, at Lena the football-mad husband mumbles a few nice words.

Before the spontaneous action occurs, both of them lead normal lives. Lena works as a freelance photographer, has a teenage daughter with the worker Bodo and seems to have submitted to the sadness of everyday life. Martin works as a successful journalist and is married to Solveig, whose urgent desire for a child degenerates into an excessive desire for sexual intercourse, which Martin is reluctant to get involved with.

They later meet by chance in a department store. They secretly agree to meet again in the elevator. The regular visits to the swimming pool become an alibi for both of them to meet and live out their obsession for one another. One quickly agrees to spend the loving hours in a hotel. This later turns into a stay of several days at the sea.

For both of them, the relationship puts their previous life to the test. The situation is becoming increasingly serious for Lena, and the option to start over with Martin is palpable. For Martin the relationship is an adventure, an escape from routine.

Solveig discovers that her husband is cheating, but says nothing about it. Instead, she pretends to Martin that she is pregnant, which her parents especially enjoy. Martin also seems to be happy about it. At the same time he seriously asks Lena if she wants to go out with him, and she says yes. Lena and Bodo now live separately. Solveig's parents give the young couple a spacious apartment for their future together with the child, who is now on the road. Martin does not leave his wife and Lena is left alone.
