history

Sagsdorf gained historical importance through the Mecklenburg state parliaments , which had taken place at the Sagsdorfer Bridge since 1275. This is where the Mecklenburg rulers and the Mecklenburg provincial estates (knighthood, clergy and mayor representing the landscape ) met to negotiate taxes, laws, privileges and campaigns. At that time, the negotiations were conducted in the open air and each only lasted one day. The last major act of Mecklenburg state politics at the Sagsdorfer Bridge was the resolution of the united states in 1549 to introduce the Reformation in Mecklenburg. A memorial, the Reformation stone, reminds of the regional historical significance of the Sagsdorf Bridge .

The place used to be at the border triangle between the territories of the Mecklenburg princes, the bishop of Schwerin and the rule of Werle and was therefore selected for the state parliaments. After 1549 the state parliaments (alternating annually with Malchin ) took place on the nearby Sternberg Judenberg and were later moved to the town hall.

Sagsdorf himself belonged to the secularization of the diocese of Schwerin and until the early 16th century, the Stammlehngut of from Bibow . On July 14, 1581 Heidenrich Bibow sold the estate to Jürgen Wackerbart for 1700 guilders.

In 1631 Jürgen Wackerbarth pledged the Katelbogen estate including Sagsdorf to the Rostock citizen Joachim Lohrmann. A little later, the Wackerbarths finally lost ownership of the estate. Since 1758 Sagsdorf was the domanium of the dukes of Mecklenburg.

After 1918 Sagsdorf belonged to the Free State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, then from 1934 as a district of the municipality of Sülten to the State of Mecklenburg . In 1919 the previous Dominalamt Warin - Neukloster -Sternberg- Tempzin came to the newly formed district of Wismar . After the Second World War , the state of Mecklenburg was dissolved in 1952 and Sagsdorf was assigned to the Sternberg district in the Schwerin district . After the fall of the Wall , Groß Görnow became part of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and, after the Sternberg district was dissolved in 1994, it became the newly formed Parchim district . In 2003 Groß Görnow and thus also Sagsdorf were incorporated into Sternberg.

Sagsdorf is not on any national transport connection. It is accessed with a short spur road from the country road from Sternberg to Groß Görnow.
