Zahrensdorf is a district of the municipality of Kloster Tempzin in the north of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

Geography and traffic

Zahrensdorf is located in the north of the Ludwigslust-Parchim district along the Mühlenbach . In the northeast of the local area lies the Tempziner See and in the north the Große Steedersee . In the west Zahrensdorf borders on the Neuhofer See and in the south on the Keezer See . The Werdermoor wetland lies halfway between Neuhofer See and Tempziner See . The highest point is a nameless hill in the south at 67.2  m above sea level. HN .

The Bad Kleinen – Rostock railway runs through the north of the local area , but there is no stopping point. Via the B 192 to the east, you can get to the Zurow connection (15 km away) on the A 20 Baltic Sea motorway ( Lübeck - Stettin ). The next cities are not far away with Brüel (four kilometers) and Warin (six kilometers).

history

It is first mentioned in 1238 and the Tempzin monastery in 1222. Until 1316 it belonged to Heinrich , Prince of Mecklenburg, then to the von Plessen family . From 1405 until the secularization in 1555 the area belonged to the Tempzin Monastery. From 1794 until the Second World War , Zahrensdorf belonged to the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg . After 1945 it first belonged to the state of Mecklenburg and then from 1952 to 1990 to the Schwerin district . On July 1, 1950, the Tempzin community was incorporated. On January 1, 2016, the municipality of Zahrensdorf was dissolved. Together with Langen Jarchow, she formed the new congregation Kloster Tempzin .
