The municipality of Saint-Hilaire-le-Lierru merged with Tuffé on January 1, 2016 to form the new municipality of Tuffé Val de la Chéronne. The municipality of Saint-Hilaire-le-Lierru belonged to the canton of La Ferté-Bernard (until 2015: canton of Tuffé ).
