The commune of Sainte-Blandine merged with Mougon-Thorigné and Aigonnay to form the Commune nouvelle Aigondigné on January 1, 2019 . Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The commune of Sainte-Blandine belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Celles-sur-Belle .

Sainte-Blandine is about 16 kilometers east-southeast of Niort . The municipality of Sainte-Blandine was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Mougon-Thorigné in the north and north-west, Celles-sur-Belle in the east, Saint-Médard in the south, Brûlain in the south and south-east and Prahecq in the west.
