Samuel Mosbach

Samuel Mosbach (born July 23, 1584 in Rudolstadt ; † March 2, 1649 in Leipzig) was a German legal scholar.

Life

The son of Samuel Mosbach the Elder (1556-1603) enrolled at the University of Leipzig in the winter semester of 1593 . In the summer semester of 1601 he began to study law, which he completed on March 23, 1615 with the acquisition of the licentiate in legal sciences and on March 14, 1616 with a doctorate in law. After he had worked as a lawyer for a while , he was admitted to the law faculty as an assessor on March 6, 1635 , and on September 2, 1639 he became the fifth professor at the Leipzig Faculty of Law with the title de Verborum Significatione et de Regulis Juris and later for fourth professor of the institutes.

In addition, in 1646 he became assessor at the Leipzig consistory , councilor at the court of appeal in Dresden and canon in Naumburg . Mosbach had also participated in the organizational tasks of the Leipzig University and was rector of the Alma Mater in the winter semesters of 1635 and 1647 .

Samuel Mosbach was buried on March 7th in the Paulinerkirche in Leipzig .
