San Lorenzo in Banale (German outdated: Sankt Lorenz ) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) San Lorenzo Dorsino and until 2015 was an independent municipality in Trentino in the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol .

geography

The place is about 16 kilometers west of Trento on the southeastern foothills of the Brenta group . In the northeast lies the Lago di Molveno . The community belonged to the valley community Comunità delle Giudicarie . The neighboring municipalities were Andalo , Calavino , Comano Terme , Dorsino, Molveno , Ragoli , Stenico and Vezzano . The fractions Deggia, Moline and Nembia also belonged to the former municipality.

history

On January 1, 2015, San Lorenzo in Banale was merged with the municipality of Dorsino to form the new municipality of San Lorenzo Dorsino. The seat of the new municipality is in San Lorenzo in Banale.

The Strada Statale 421 dei Laghi di Molveno e Tenno leads through the village from Spormaggiore to Riva del Garda .
