Sananain ( Sanana'in ) is an East Timorese suco in the Laclubar administrative office ( Manatuto municipality ).

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Sananain had an area of 40.23 km². Now it is 39.82 km². The Suco is to the north of the Laclubar administrative office. To the west and south is the Suco Batara . In the east of Sananain lies the administrative office of Manatuto with its sucos Cribas and Ailili and in the north the administrative office of Laclo with its sucos Lacumesac and Uma Naruc . The entire western border is formed by the Boho River , which flows into the eastern border river, the Sumasse , at the northern tip of Sananain . At the southern border the Carcos flows into the Sumasse. The Sumasse is an important tributary of the Northern Laclós .

The four larger settlements of the Sucos lie next to each other between the Sumasse and a small tributary that rises in the Suco. These are Fatu-Uc ( Fatuuk ), Ruhetun ( Rehatun ), Tanusa and Waidarec ( Waiderek , Waidenek ). There is a medical station, a helipad and the Escola Primaria Sananain elementary school . The places are poorly connected to the outside world. For the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , the ballot boxes were transported with horses and porters to the polling station in the primary school and picked up again.

The four Aldeias Fatu-Uc , Ruhetun , Tanusa and Waidarec are located in the Suco .

Residents

618 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), of which 314 are men and 304 women. The population density is 15.5 inhabitants / km². There are 112 households in the Suco. Almost 99% of the population list Idaté as their mother tongue. Small minorities speak Tetum Prasa or Tetum Terik .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections , Salvador Abílio de Jesus was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Luís José Soares won .
