Sanda Belgyan (born December 17, 1992 in Cluj-Napoca ) is a Romanian sprinter and hurdler .

Athletic career

Sanda Belgyan appeared for the first time at the World Athletics Championships in 2009 , where she took over 400-meter hurdles, was eliminated in the preliminary round, and also won the bronze medal with the Romanian sprint relay. In 2010 she took part in the Junior World Championships . Over the hurdles she was eliminated again in the preliminary round and with the 4 x 400 meter relay she was disqualified in the preliminary round. At the Junior European Championships in 2011 she reached the semifinals and was disqualified once more with the relay.

In 2012 Belgyan qualified over 400 meters for the European Championships in Helsinki , but was eliminated there in the preliminary round. With the season she reached eighth place in the final. At the European Athletics U23 Championships in 2013 , the Romanians won the silver medal behind the Poles and over 400 meters hurdles she was eliminated in the preliminary run. At the World Championships in Moscow in the same year, the Romanian relay was seventh. She also won the gold medal with the relay at the Francophonie Games that year. At the 2014 World Indoor Athletics Championships in Sopot , Poland , she was unable to qualify for the final with the relay.

In 2015, she competed over 400 meters at the Universiade in Gwangju and came in eighth. She was eliminated in the semifinals over the hurdles. At the World Championships in Beijing in August 2015, she was eliminated from the relay in the preliminary round . At the European Championships in 2016 , the Romanians finished eighth and over 400 meters they were eliminated in the preliminary round. At the Universiade 2017 in Taipei she won the bronze medal with the Romanian relay.
