In violent clashes between the two divided border communities there were 25 injured and two seriously injured, in Oruro the regional trade union federation COD and around 500 miners accused the government in La Paz of inactivity, and in the departmental capital Potosí Because of the protests there, all public life stood still for 24 hours. Autonomy Minister Claudia Peña declared the strike "political and unjustified". As early as the first weekend in March there was a written agreement between the two communities for a peaceful settlement of the conflict over arable land. The local pacification is above all the task of those affected, said Peña.
