Saprize is a hip-hop - Crossover - band of Bremen , which was established in 1993.

history

Saprize was born in 1993 in a spontaneous appearance in the slaughterhouse Kesselhalle in Bremen and were immediately after this first concert of music publishing Sound O and the label Cage49 under contract taken. The first long-playing record, Alwaysacutahead, followed a week later, and in 1994 the album No !, which was produced in Eastcote Studio London and was released by Our Choice / Rough Trade Germany. Our Choice also released the band's third CD in 1996, 28203, which was created at the Institute for Sound Research .

Saprize played about 300 appearances in German-speaking countries and in England; Among others with Grandmaster Flash , Chumbawamba , Consolidated , Boo Yah TRIBE, Gunshot , Dub War , Such a Surge , Poets of Peeze , Attila the Stockbroker , Blaggers ITA , Beginner and FAB The band broke up in 1997.

Gregor Hennig released two albums with Czech and is now working as a music producer in Studio Nord Bremen . Ben Rodenberg runs the booking agency Gastspielreisen Rodenberg. After separating from Saprize, Gregor and Ben recorded the album Clouts under the name Ben & Greque .

The band's physical records are no longer available. There is an online re-release of the entire repertoire on the Fuego label, which is only available online.

In 2008 Elements of Saprize - The Best Album was released on RB Records in Japan . At the invitation of the record company, Saprize played the first show in 15 years at Lush in Tokyo on February 25, 2012.

In the summer of 2013, after 15 years, the group returned to their hometown of Bremen as part of the Breminale and played on the flood stage - Kogge Pop Summer Camp. On Boxing Day of the year, Ferris MC and DJ Stylewarz performed at the Schlachthof cultural center .
