Sarah Sauermann

Sarah Sauermann (born June 7, 1988 in Wolfen ) is a German politician and member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . In 2016 she won a direct mandate for Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), but left the AfD parliamentary group at the end of May 2017 and has been a non-attached MP since then .

Life

After graduating from high school in 2007, Sauermann completed a degree in architecture , which she completed in 2013 with a master's degree. She was then briefly a consultant in the state administration office in Magdeburg and clerk in structural engineering in the construction and property management Saxony-Anhalt (BLSA) in Halle (Saale) . From 2014 she worked as a freelancer.

Sauermann lives in Dessau . She is single. The AfD member of the state parliament Daniel Roi was her partner.

politics

Sauermann joined the alternative for Germany in 2013 . She was a member of the AfD district association Anhalt-Bitterfeld . From 2014 to 2016 she was a member of the Raguhn-Jeßnitz City Council and the Raguhn Local Council . From 2014 to March 2018 she was a member of the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district assembly .

Sauermann denied her state election campaign with propaganda against refugees with reference to Cologne's New Year's Eve 2015 . In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016, she won the constituency of Bernburg (constituency 21) with 30.8 percent of the first votes and moved into the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt as a direct candidate . She became one of two women of the 25 members of the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt. She is a member of the Petitions Committee .

From March to November 2016 she was a member of the board of the parliamentary group. At the end of May 2017, Sauermann announced that she was leaving the parliamentary group. The reason she gave was that remaining in the parliamentary group was no longer compatible with her conscience and that constructive work in the spirit of the matter was impossible. She was considered a critic of the then parliamentary group leader André Poggenburg . On May 25, 2016, Sauermann gave her last speech in the state parliament plenum, and she submitted a parliamentary question in August 2017. After that, she was politically inactive due to illness. She was publicly accused of continuing to receive the office expenses allowance and the MP's diet during this time. However, there is no prescribed minimum attendance in the state parliament. In January 2019 Sauermann submitted an application for membership to the CDU . Your constituency office was closed in November 2018.
