Sarah Traubel (born July 12, 1986 in Leimen ) is a German opera and concert singer with a soprano voice .

Life

Sarah Traubel is the great niece of the Metropolitan Opera singer Helen Traubel . She began her singing career at the age of seventeen in Mannheim . She then completed her vocal studies at the University of the Arts in Berlin , at the Mozarteum in Salzburg , which she graduated with honors, and at the Manhattan School of Music in New York . In addition to studying with Barbara Bonney in Salzburg, with whom she still works today, she studied with Francisco Araiza , Julie Kaufmann and Angelika Kirchschlager .

Sarah Traubel attracted attention when she stepped in for Eva Mei as Constanze at short notice at the Zurich Opera House in a gala performance of Mozart's Abduction from the Seraglio in honor of the outgoing artistic director Alexander Pereira . Since then she has worked with conductors such as Daniele Gatti , Ingo Metzmacher and Ádám Fischer . At the Zurich Opera House she was a. a. as Queen of the Night (Mozart's Magic Flute ), Titania (Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream ), Rosina (Mozart's La finta semplice ), Amor ( Haydn's L'anima del filosofo ) and Engel (Pfitzner's Palestrina ). Sarah Traubel worked with directors such as Harry Kupfer , Jan Esslinger , Nina Russi and Jens-Daniel Herzog . In addition to the opera stage, she is also active as an oratorio and lieder singer and has repeatedly been a guest at festivals such as the Mondsee Music Days .
