Sarantschuky (Ukrainian Саранчуки ; Russian Саранчуки / Sarantschuki ; Polish Sarańczuki ) is a village in the Ukrainian Ternopil Oblast with about 600 inhabitants.
The village is located in the south of the Bereschany Rajon on the bank of the Solota Lypa , a tributary of the Dniester , 11 kilometers south of the Bereschany Rajon center and about 50 kilometers southwest of the oblast capital Ternopil .
On August 10, 2017, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Sarantschuky ( Саранчуківська сільська громада Sarantschukiwska silska hromada ). At this still count the seven villages Basnykiwka ( Базниківка ) Kotiw ( Котів ) Molochiw ( Молохів ) Nowa Hreblja ( Нова Гребля ) Rybnyky ( Рибники ), Trostyanets ( Тростянець ) and Wilchowez ( Вільховець ). Until then, it made with the village Basnykiwka the District Municipality Sarantschuky.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1399 and was initially in the Ruthenian Voivodeship as part of the aristocratic republic of Poland . From 1772 to November 1918 he belonged to the Austrian Galicia under his Polish name Sarańczuki , from 1867 it was in the political district of Brzeżany .
After the end of the First World War, the place became part of Poland (in the Voivodeship of Tarnopol , Powiat Brzeżany , Gmina Potutory ), was occupied by the Soviet Union from September 1939 and then by Germany from summer 1941 to 1944 , here the place was in incorporated the district of Galicia .
After the end of the war the place was added to the Soviet Union , there the village came to the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991.
