Sarbia (German Münchsdorf ) is a village in the municipality of Krosno Odrzańskie in the Powiat Krośnieński (Krosno Odrzańskie) .
geography
It is located at an altitude of about 38 meters above sea level in the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . The Oder flows about one kilometer north of Sarbia from east to west towards the German-Polish border. The closest neighboring towns are Czarnowo, about two kilometers southwest, and Retno, about 2.5 kilometers northeast. The town of Krosno Odrzańskie is about 6.5 kilometers east of Sarbia. The main sources of income for the village are forestry and agriculture.
history
The village of Münchsdorf was founded by monks from the Cistercian monastery Leubus . Martinskirche was consecrated in 1226. In 1530 it was sold to the Güntersdorf provost's office. At that time it was called the Slavic village ( villa slavica ). Until the early 18th century, the place belonged to the Lower Sorbian language area.
In the 19th century, the village belonged to the Crossen district in Neumark in Brandenburg . In 1933 and 1939 there were 596 inhabitants.
