The Saskatchewan Highway 39 is located in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan , it has a length of 264 km. It is partly part of the National Highway System , where it is listed as a core route. Furthermore, a section of the route is part of the CanAm Highway .

Routing

The highway begins at the border with the United States at the North Portal border station. Route 52 to Fargo runs south from there . The highway runs northwest towards the city of Estevan . Shortly before the city, the highway crosses the Souris River , which runs parallel to the highway from there to Weyburn . Northwest of Milestone intersects Highway 6 , which leads to the provincial capital Regina . East of Moose Jaw , Highway 39 meets Highway 1 , the Trans-Canada Highway , and ends there.

Road systems

The southern section of the highway between the United States border and the intersection with Highway 6 is part of the National Highway System. The section between Highway 35 in Weyburn and Highway 6 is part of the CanAm Highway, which is a transport corridor from Texas to Saskatchewan.

expansion

The route between Estevan and Regina, which includes Highway 39 and Highway 6, will in future be similar to a motorway, i.e. H. with separate directional lanes and designed for a speed of 110 km / h.
