Amphoe Sattahip ( Thai : อำเภอ สัตหีบ ) is a district ( amphoe - administrative district) in Chonburi Province . The Chonburi Province is located in the east of the central region of Thailand .

geography

Sattahip is located in the southern part of the province, near the tourist center of Pattaya . Neighboring districts are made clockwise from the north: Bang Lamung in Chonburi province and Amphoe Ban Chang of Rayong province . To the south and west lies the Gulf of Thailand .

history

The largest naval base of the Royal Thai Navy is located in Sattahip . During the Vietnam War , the nearby U-Tapao Airport was used extensively by the US Air Force .

The 20th World Scout Jamboree 2002/2003 was held here from December 2002 to January 2003 .

  • Sattahip (Thai: เทศบาล เมือง สัตหีบ ) consisting of the parts of the tambon Sattahip, Phlu Ta Luang.

There are five municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

  • Khao Chi Chan (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขา ชี จร ร ย์ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Na Chom Thian.
  • Klet Kaeo (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เกล็ด แก้ว ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Bang Sare.
  • Na Chom Thian (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นา จอม เทียน ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Na Chom Thian.
  • Bang Sare (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง เส ร่ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Bang Sare.
  • Khet Udom Sak (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เขต ร อุดม ศักดิ์ ) consisting of parts of the Tambon Sattahip.

There are also two " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

  • Phlu Ta Luang (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล พลู ตา หลวง ) consisting of parts of the tambon Phlu Ta Luang.
  • Samaesan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แสมสาร ) consisting of the complete Tambon Samaesan.
