history

The song was released in 1978 as a duet by Marilyn McCoo feat. Billy Davis, Jr. first published, but was only moderately successful.

The cover version of Saving All My Love for You - sung by Whitney Houston and also produced by Michael Masser - was released worldwide on August 3, 1985. It became a number one hit in the United States , Great Britain , Ireland, and Australia . In addition to its huge success on the Billboard Hot 100 , the song also topped the AC and R&B charts. Houston received her first Grammy for the song at the 1986 Grammy Awards (in the category: "Best Female Vocal Performance").

The 1985 version of the song is a total of 3:48 minutes and was released as the third single from the album Whitney Houston recorded at Sigma Sound Studios . The B-side contains a duet by her and Jermaine Jackson with Nobody Loves Me Like You ; it is a cover version of the song by Anne Murray feat. Dave Loggins from 1984.

The song was quickly picked up by jazz musicians and is now part of the Real Book .

In the Wife Swap episode from The Simpsons , some contestants sang the song on a karaoke reality show when the Simpsons were visiting Fox Studios.
