Judith Lefeber
Judith Madhavi Lefeber (born March 14, 1981 in Manipal , Karnataka , India ) is a German singer and musical artist . She became known in 2003 through the first season of the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar .
biography
Lefeber was born in India and adopted at the age of six months by German parents who already had a seven-year-old son, and grew up in Rheda-Wiedenbrück . She received piano and ballet lessons at the age of four and began performing in public at the age of five. Until she was 14, she sang in the choir of the St. Aegidius Girls' Choir in Wiedenbrück and also received singing lessons for three years . In 1997 Lefeber took second place in her age group in the field of singing ( soprano ) in the regional competition Jugend musiziert . After completing secondary school, she deepened her vocal training and studied singing ( mezzo-soprano ) and piano as a young student at the Detmold University of Music . She later switched to the Folkwang University in Essen .
At the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar , Lefeber was among the last ten candidates in 2002, but voluntarily dropped out of the third live show due to psychological stress, although she had taken first place in the first two shows.
In 2003 her debut album In My Dreams came out. The two singles I Will Follow You and Everybody Does were released. Many TV and live appearances followed. In 2004 she took on the leading role of Aida in Elton John's and Tim Rice 's musical of the same name in Essen. She also released an album called In My Room . In 2006 she became an ensemble member in the musical revue Musical Hautnah . Because of her pregnancy, she ended this engagement prematurely, her daughter was born in 2008. From January to July 2009 Lefeber played the role of Dionne in the musical Hair . In April 2009 the single Two Mothers was released .
In addition to various appearances and a. at Classics unter Sternen in Zwickau and Chemnitz as well as Sounds of Hollywood in various cities, both together with the Vogtland Philharmonic , from 2011 to 2012 she played the title role again in the musical Aida at the Chemnitz Theater and in Queen - Another Kind of Magic at the Kassel State Theater . In 2012 she was back on stage as Dionne in the musical Hair . In the 2013/2014 season she played Aida again in Chemnitz and also took part in the disco in concert production in Kassel.
