The Schönerlinder street is a street in the Berlin districts French Buchholz , Blankenfelde and book of Pankow . history

Schönerlinder Strasse

The Schönerlinder Straße is named after the direction from old Berlin to the Brandenburg district of Schönerlinde north of Berlin in the Barnim district. The road was an old connection between the former villages of Buchholz and Schönerlinde. In 1824 it was expanded as part of the Provinzialchaussee Berlin– Prenzlau . The part of the street located in the district of Buch was added with the opening of the new section of the city motorway on February 14, 1964.

With the construction of the motorway at the beginning of the 1960s, the previous part of the traffic route between Weißensee and French Buchholz lost its meaning but not its name. Its preservation has been steadily neglected. Construction of the new road will begin in the first half of 2017. It is to be renewed over a length of 1.5 kilometers, starting on the road to Arkenberge, including the roadway and the old sidewalks and bike paths. The current attachment will be completely removed and re-established. At the Schönerlinder Strasse junction with the A 114, a left-turn lane in the B 109 is to be expanded and equipped with a traffic light. The surface of the road is being rehabilitated up to the state border between Berlin and Brandenburg. The current wearing course is milled off and a new surface and binder course is installed. The very old trees should be preserved and protected. The previously one-sided sidewalk and bike path will be renovated and on the second side a new asphalt sidewalk and bike path will be created with a width of 2.50 meters. The barrier system of the Niederbarnimer Railway (NEB) is expanded. In addition, the root bridges for the footpaths and bike paths must be built to preserve the trees. This required action is accompanied by a tree expert.

Cultural monuments on or in Schönerlinder Strasse

This includes a larger outdoor area with simple buildings, which has been used for the production of fireworks since the 20th century (address: Schönerlinder Straße 29). In the 10th century it was a settlement. Archaeologists have discovered and documented the remains of a settlement from the younger Bronze Age nearby.

Some farm workers' accommodations on this street in the Gut Schönerlinde area still within Berlin, which were renovated after the political change and are still used as residential buildings, are not designated as architectural monuments .

Lindenhof Bridge

The Lindenhofbrücke , a bridge in the course of Schönerlinder Strasse, leads the Bundesstrasse 109 over the tracks of the Berlin outer ring . It is in a poor structural condition. That is why the road construction department has introduced traffic regulations with a single-lane overpass for through traffic since the 2010s and set a load limit of 18  t total weight. A bridge test showed that the necessary load-bearing capacity can only be restored with a new replacement. Due to the high volume of traffic on federal highway 109, through traffic must be maintained during the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge; a temporary bridge (steel truss bridge of type SS 80) with two lanes has already been built. It bridges the four-track railway system of the DB AG and a farm road to the Birkengrund allotment garden; two new bridge abutments have already been completed in 2016. The demolition and rebuilding of the bridge is planned between 2016 and 2018. The construction costs amount to 1.7 million euros and are provided by the federal government .
