geography
Course and description
The stream is fed by the Sorgbrunnenquelle, which rises in the Schöpfleinsgrund , about 400 m in a north-easterly direction, down the valley, from Altendorf . The stream initially flows eastwards before turning south in Siedamsdorf . At the end of the village, after an S-curve with a sharp bend in the brook, it continues south, where it flows through the Kaspauer valley down the valley and is fed by the Winkelbach. The Brandleitenbach joins about half a kilometer downstream and the Schöpfleinsgraben changes its direction of flow again to the southeast, where it joins the Weismain south of Erlach . Unlike the Weismain, the Schöpfleinsgraben is not inhabited by fish.
Tributaries
Two right tributaries flow into the Schöpfleinsgraben , the Winkelbach and the 'Brandleitenbach.
The Winkelbach rises at 430 m above sea level. NHN in the narrow Kerbtal between the mountains Viehberg and Kulm and flows after 900 m, at about 370 m above sea level. NHN , in Kaspauer in the Schöpfleinsgraben.
The Brandleitenbach rises in three sources between 389 and 399 m above sea level. NHN in the narrow Kerbtal between the Viehberg and the Brandleite and flows after 650 m, at about 358 m above sea level. NHN , south of Kaspauer in the Schöpfleinsgraben. Originally, the mouth was probably further downstream, but the lower course of the stream was probably diverted to the northwest in the Middle Ages or in modern times.
