Fanny Burkhard runs a management consultancy with her business partner and ex-boyfriend Roland Beck. They specialize in hostile takeovers . Whenever large corporations want to buy up small companies, they are called. The business is extremely lucrative and successful. Unfortunately, love goes far less well. Roland had once left her for a younger woman. It bothered her so much that she has suffered from insomnia for three years. With the opening of a new office in Hong Kong, she hopes to gain the necessary distance she needs. But before she can tackle the project, she has to close one last deal for a Chinese company that wants to take over a small German game company. Before the first purchase offer is available, she has to obtain information about the company founder.

She is surprised to find out that the managing director is the weird game inventor Christian. It's her neighbor from her old student flat share. He once broke the heart of her best friend Nicole. She organizes a chance encounter where she makes contact with him. From then on she spies on him and has to find out that she likes him and that it is increasingly difficult for her to deceive him. It doesn't make the situation any easier that her 20-year-old nephew Florian gets on very well with Christian's pretty daughter Marie. The emotional chaos becomes more and more pronounced when not only Roland demands results, but Fanny also tries to hide her feelings for Christian from Nicole.

Reviews

"Romantic television comedy about a career woman in an unexpected moral dilemma."

"The romantic comedy by TV director Christine Kabisch based on a model by Edda Leesch [...] is less convincing through an original story than through the play of the well-humored cast."

"Shallow fare, even if played well"
