The Silesian Foothills ( Pogórze Śląskie in Polish ) consists of foothills of the West Beskids in southern Poland in the Silesian Voivodeship and Lesser Poland Voivodeship . Its highest peak is the Tuł with 612 m.

geography

According to Jerzy Kondracki , the promontory lies between the Olsa rivers in the west and Wieprzówka in the east. It is a strip of land north of the Silesian and Little Beskids , about 5–15 kilometers wide. To the north it goes over into the Ostrava and Auschwitz basins .

The area between Olsa and Biała (in the historical Silesia region) is also called Pogórze Cieszyńskie ( Cieszyn Foothills ).

The towns in the foothills are Cieszyn , Skoczów , Ustroń , Bielsko-Biała , Kęty and Andrychów .
