Grüningen Castle is a castle in the village of Grüningen in the Swiss canton of Zurich .

The castle was built as a castle before 1229. In its early days it was owned by the Barons von Regensberg . At the time of the Landvogtei Grüningen it was the seat of the Landvogte appointed by Zurich. Only the main hall and the keep, which was dismantled at its height in 1783, remain of the original structure. When the church burned on October 19-20, 1970, the castle was also damaged. The roof structure and top floor had to be renewed as a result.

The castle, which in the meantime also served as a rectory, was extensively renovated in 2015/2016. A conference center with conference and meeting rooms has now been set up on the upper two floors. The castle café was opened in the basement. The castle also houses a museum on the first floor, in which various medieval weapons and tools can be seen.

A palace chapel has stood on the site of today's Reformed Church in Grüningen since at least 1396, which was expanded in 1610 - the year it was elevated to parish church - and in 1649. In 1782 this was torn down and the church, which still largely exists in this form today, was built in the early classical style in its place until the following year. In the fire of 1970 it burned down to the outer walls and was rebuilt from May 1975 to March 1977.
