action
After Günther Kuballa and Wolfgang Krettek found out that their favorite schnitzel stand should be closed, they asked to be allowed to take it over. You are offered to buy it for 10,000 euros. To raise the money for it, Wolfgang's wife Karin takes the two of them to a party organized by her (rich) ex-lover Sonne in his villa. Günther asks him for a loan, but Sonne refuses because he would generally not lend money to friends. Instead, he gives the two of them, who have been living on Hartz IV for nine years, the opportunity to earn their living as a dog sitter with him. Günther and Wolfgang look after the dogs alone in the villa, but break a valuable sculpture in the process. In order not to have to pay damages, they make it appear as an accident: Wolfgang fell through the banister while trying to save the dogs and destroyed the statue. In addition, they want Sonne to pay Wolfgang the required 10,000 euros as compensation for pain and suffering.
Since Sonne had planned a spa weekend for himself, Karin and Wolfgang, Wolfgang (he cannot come because of his alleged injury) lets Sonne (whom he knows he still loves Karin) and Karin drive alone, but secretly follows them both . After Wolfgang and Günther, who has meanwhile also arrived, are noticed by Karin, the two suns have to tell the truth. Unexpectedly, they still receive the 10,000 euros from Sonne. But Karin is disappointed in Wolfgang because he lied to her and leaves him (temporarily).
At home, Günther and Wolfgang meet the over-friendly and helpful Greek craftsman Kosta, who lived from Hartz IV until he started his own business. He should repair the banister in the sun and feels complicit in Wolfgang's "accident", so he wanted to apologize to him. During a snack in the schnitzel stand, it turns out that Kosta can barely afford a portion of french fries during the day. During the drive to the sun, Kosta tells that the unrepaired railing means that he will no longer receive any orders and that his daughters will have to stay in Greece. When they meet Kosta, Wolfgang and Günther feel guilty and try to avoid him, but they meet him again and again. Finally, they use Wolfgang's daughter Jessie to transfer the 10,000 euros to Kosta, disguised as a crossword puzzle prize.
In order to get another 10,000 euros, Günther and Wolfgang Sonne want to use their passion for art. Since Wolfgang recently “prescribed” a creative course from the job center, this gave him the idea of making a sculpture and offering this sun as an exclusive work of art. This succeeds with the help of Wolfgang's daughter Jessie, who brings the sculpture (which strangely looks very similar to Karin) Sun and presents it as the work of a South American artist and thus receives 18,000 euros for it. But they have to give part of the money to the real art dealer, who recognized the fraud but did not want to reveal anything. But that wasn't really necessary, because Sonne saw through the smear theater on his own, but still wanted the character because she had agreed with him.
In the end, Wolfgang and Günther are the owners of the schnitzel stand and bread the first schnitzel for Karin, who has since arrived. Then Ms. Gottschalk appears, who has been responsible for Günther and Wolfgang at the employment office for years, and announces that she will be retiring, whereupon Günther and Wolfgang bread her a schnitzel.
