The Schottmalhorn is a 2045  m above sea level. NHN high peaks of the Reiter Alm in the Berchtesgaden Alps .

Despite the low dominance and notch height , the Schottmalhorn offers an unexpectedly good panoramic view of the entire Reiter Alm and its peaks. In addition, the view includes Hohen Göll , Großer Priel and Dachstein in the east, Watzmann and Hochkalter in the southeast, Großglockner and Leoganger Steinberge in the south and the Chiemgau Alps with Sonntagshorn and Hochstaufen in the west and north . The deep view of the Hintersee and Ramsau is particularly impressive .

Two marked trails lead from the Neue Traunsteiner Hütte to the Schottmalhorn, which can be combined to form a round tour.
