history
middle Ages
The place was first mentioned in a document as Swabenhusen in 1239 . It is probably an expansion site from the Franconian times that belonged to the Boxberg rule. The place probably did not come to the Johanniter, but was probably acquired by the Lower Nobility of Electoral Palatinate and in 1430 handed over to Philipp von Ingelheim and Wilhelm Knebel von Katzenelnbogen in exchange for rights in Hilsbach. Then Schwabhausen came to the Lords of Rosenberg and has always been associated with Boxberg throughout its history.
Modern times
In 1561 the local rule finally became Palatine. Until 1570 Schwabhausen belonged to the Tenth Ballenberg, then to the Tenth Boxberg. In 1803 the place came to the Principality of Leiningen before becoming Baden in 1806. The office membership is identical to that of Boxberg.
On January 1, 1973 Schwabhausen was incorporated into the town of Boxberg together with Angeltürn , Bobstadt, Epplingen, Lengenrieden, Uiffingen and Windischbuch .
